I knew Lady Bell and it is true - she had a very special and incredible spirit.  Her life
has taught us all the important things in life.

Lady looked like a broken dog, but she was always so happy and full of life.  Even as
she got a little slower she was still the Queen of the pack.  She saw more of the
world and experienced more than most people will thanks to her good nature and
Matt's love.  No doubt she's running around(with unbowed legs) with our other pets in
heaven. Probably keeping them in line with a growl every now and then.

Every dog is special, but once in awhile you meet a Lady
Bell.  When Jess and Matt adopted Lady, we thought she was an old
crippled dog who just needed a good home.  But before long she made her
presence known.  She could run, jump, play and chase those cats like any
other dog.  Lady was a regular at our house, actually she was family.  She
got along well with our animals (if they left her alone) and she liked
lying in front of the slider in the sun.  But when it was time to go,
she was right there beside Matt.  Somehow she would manage to get her
feet on the front seat of that big truck and Matt would give her a boost
up.  She loved to ride.  When Matt started taking Lady on his work
trips, I worried that she wouldn’t be able to make the trips.  But all of
a sudden she had a job to do and she loved it.  I’m not sure if her
job was Matt’s protector or just to be a friend and companion on
those long rides – probably both.  And of course stopping at McDonalds
along the way was all the pay she needed.  When Matt got the tattoo of Lady
on his arm, I thought it was a beautiful lifelike tattoo.  After
reading Matt’s story, when I look at that tattoo I don’t just see a
beautiful tattoo of Lady, I see Lady Bell; a friend and companion that
Matt takes with him wherever he goes.  We love you Matt for sharing your
story and we love Lady for being part of our life and for knowing
she’ll always be a part of your life.

The first day I met Lady I knew she would fit into our lives perfectly.  Despite her
skinny body, her lopsided ears and her crippled legs , there was a sparkle in those big
brown eyes that spoke to me and said, "Come on, give me a chance!"  When I called
Matt (my husband) and told him about her he drove to my work almost
immediatley......it was all over when he saw her.....love at first sight!  Not even a
pause or a hesitation, he said "Okay, we'll take her home!"  From that day on Lady
was a HUGE part of our lives. She had so much character and personality.  You knew
what Lady wanted and what she was feeling with just one look into her eyes.  She
was way more than a pet, more than a "dog", she was my husband's best friend and
most loyal companion.  It has been a year since we lost our sweet Lady  and there
will always be a void in our lives without her, but her memories and her love will
always fill that empty spot.  Lady will always be with us, in our hearts, in our minds, in
our memories....never ever forgotten.  Sweet Lady, you still make me laugh, you still
make me smile.  We miss you so much!  I know you're watching over us and keeping
us safe and i know you're happy and smiling that goofy smile!  You continue to return
the love we give you even from up above. We LOVE you very much Lady Bell!!!
